We are pleased to announce that the Royston First BID has been renewed for another five years (2024 – 2029)

More information to follow…

It’s encouraging to hear that so many businesses and other organisations value the work Royston First BID undertakes. The past 5 years have been challenging – we’ve been working hard through the loss of a founding Director, the pandemic, Brexit, and now the cost of living crisis. Our BID team, made up of volunteers, works hard all year round to ensure the town remains a clean, safe, vibrant, and promoted environment for all to enjoy and organisations to prosper.

Over these last 5 years, we have expanded our projects to cover a wider range of activities within the themes of ‘Promote, Pride, Partnership & Protect’.

Here, the BID levy fund has allowed tangible support for a vast array of projects, including the organisation and management of events, such as the Christmas Lights Switch-On, and the Coronation Celebration Day, increasing communication using social media, emails, and the WhatsApp group, and reviving four large poster sites in the town centre. The Free After Three and scratch card parking schemes are also notable ‘big hits’ with the town centre and industrial estate businesses.

Time for BID Renewal

As a business improvement district (BID), Royston First BID operates in five-year terms. Our third five-year term comes to an end next year, and so our focus is now on the renewal ballot.

This November, we will be asking businesses who are BID levy-payers, to cast their vote for the ballot, in the hope we can renew the BID for another 5-year term. Over the past few months, we have been consulting with all BID members to form the Business Plan, that will ultimately benefit Royston town centre, the industrial areas, and the wider community from 2024-2029.
